Femto LASIK
Femto LASIK is a precise excimer laser, which uses ultraviolet rays to reshape the cornea to resolve vision problems like nearsightedness and farsightedness. The flap created is replaced once reshaping is complete. The flap heals in place without sutures. The entire procedure takes no more than 30 minutes for each eye.
How is Femto LASIK better than Traditional LASIK?
Traditional LASIK surgery
- A flap is made instead of completely removing the top layer of the cornea. This flap is made with a tiny cut by a mechanical instrument
- Takes longer to heal
Femto LASIK surgery
- A flap is created, but it is done using a laser rather than a cutting tool.
- Heals faster and result in fewer complications
You will wear an eye shield for the first 24 to 48 hours after the procedure to prevent any scratching or rubbing of the eye and dislodging the flap.
